Group Holiday Eligibility & Financial Support Guide

INTRODUCTION

The 3H Foundation has been organizing accessible group holidays since the charity began in 1975.

We understand that everyone should have the opportunity to have a break away regardless of their financial position but as there are places which provide supported holidays to people who can afford to pay the full cost of those holidays, we want to help people on a lower income to access the same experiences.

The holidays we provide are heavily subsided.  We currently provide up to two holidays a year depending on availability of funding.

To enable us to support the people who would benefit from one of our holidays, we have outlined the conditions for eligibility below.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must demonstrate that they are on a low-income.  We ask for a copy of a means-tested benefit as evidence.  Applicants who are not on a means-tested benefit may still apply however we will require evidence of income.

Applicants must include all information on their application form to ensure the care team is able to assess whether a holiday place can be granted.  The care team will need to be satisfied that suitable care and support can be provided to guarantee the applicants’ safety whilst on holiday.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Although The 3H Foundation funds up to 75% of the holiday cost, some applicants may still not be able to afford the discounted cost of the holiday.  We offer bursaries if an applicant approaches us and can provide evidence to validate their request.  Our bursaries are for support towards holidays and/or transport. The amount granted may change dependent on demand and available funds.

A fixed amount will be allocated for bursaries prior to each holiday.  Once this amount has been allocated, we will not be able to accept further bursary applications.

The application form for bursaries will be available directly from the 3H office and can be requested by any holiday guest.

Once a bursary form has been returned with the required low-income evidence it will be reviewed. There may be times when further information and/or evidence is required to make an informed and fair decision.

All information provided by applicants will be treated confidentially and used only for the sole purpose of assessing bursary eligibility.
